Mikkel Gutierrez joined Chestnut Run Capital Partners in 2024 as a member of the research and investment team.

With over 17 years of experience in lower-middle market private transactions, Mikkel has managed more than $3 billion in deal flow across buy-side M&A, private equity, and sell-side corporate finance.

Prior to joining Chestnut Run, he was an Investment Director at Climate Fund Managers, a global climate infrastructure private equity firm managing over $2 billion in assets. There, he spearheaded deal origination in Asia and played a pivotal role in launching the firm’s $850 million Climate Investor 2 fund.

Before that, he served as a corporate development executive for First Pacific Company, a Hong Kong based conglomerate with interests in infrastructure, telecoms, power, and food, and an aggregate market capitalization exceeding $38 billion.

Mikkel began his career as an investment banker in Manila, closing equity, mezzanine, and debt financing deals in natural resources and real estate.

Mikkel holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Economics from Ateneo de Manila University. He is also a CFA® charter holder.
